In the terminal on a dance floor measuring 18m x 12m, 15 couples, all of a federal league standard, will be involved in a competition for the ‘Airport Arcades Grand Prize in Latin American Dancing' Bottom of Form. The professional dancers in this official dance tournament will be judged by a top-class jury led by Joachim Llambi, the strict juror from the TV show ‘Let's dance'. The dancers will be showing off their abilities as they line up against one another in a preliminary round, a second round and the final.
An exciting day of dance is awaiting passengers and visitors to the airport. And if you fancy it, you can shake a leg yourself in a workshop. 24dance are providing altogether five mini workshops, giving instruction in the basics of classics such as Dirty Dancing, Salsa, Merengue and Disco Fox as well as Neotango, Bachata and West Coast Swing. Bright new talents can also practise swivelling their hips in the alltours children's disco.
The dance event will be rounded off by demonstration performances - for example, by the German runners-up in Latin Formation, the Velbert Dancing Centre, or the world champion Bernd Paffrath will be showing how to step dance to perfection.
